Family Friendly Rating

As someone who has lived in Jakarta for several years, I’ve come to understand the importance of finding the right neighborhood, especially for families. The city’s vast and diverse landscape means that the quality of life can vary significantly from one area to another. Drawing from my personal experiences, I’ve created this rating system to assess neighborhoods across key factors that I’ve found crucial for daily comfort and long-term satisfaction.

This system rates areas on a scale from 1 to 5 stars, based on safety, access to good schools, proximity to parks, healthcare, and the overall family-friendliness of the community. I've also factored in essentials like cost of living, public transportation, noise and pollution levels, and cultural diversity. For instance, some neighborhoods offer a peaceful, green environment with great amenities, while others may be more congested or lack the basic conveniences a family needs.

With this guide, my aim is to help others make informed decisions about where to settle in Jakarta, whether you’re looking for a quiet family-friendly neighborhood or a more vibrant and connected urban setting.

  • 5 Stars: Very low crime rate, well-lit streets, active neighborhood watch or security, and safe public spaces for children.
